Classic SleepCare has implemented a Quality Management System to ensure consistency in the quality of the service we deliver to our stakeholders. In August 2012 we achieved registration for the coveted ISO 9001:2008 quality standard (the International Standard for Quality Management Systems). The ISO 9000 family of standards is related to quality management systems and designed to help organizations ensure that they meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders while meeting statutory and regulatory requirements related to the product or service. The standards are published by the International Organization for Standardization ("ISO") and made available through National standards bodies. ISO 9000 deals with the fundamentals of quality management systems, including the eight management principles on which the family of standards is based. ISO 9001 deals with the requirements that organizations wishing to meet the standard have to fulfil. Over a million organizations worldwide are independently certified, making ISO 9001 one of the most widely used management tools in the world today. ISO 9001:2008 requirements are underpinned by eight management principles directed to ensure to consistently achieve customer satisfaction:
A customer focused organization
The involvement of people
Ensuring a process approach
A systematic approach to management
A factual approach to decision making
Mutually beneficial supplier relations
It is widely acknowledged that properly executed quality management improves business, often having a positive effect on investment, market share, sales growth, sales margins, competitive advantage, and avoidance of litigation. Through implementation of its QMS (and by qualifying for registration) our goal is to achieve:
Customer satisfaction - through delivery of products that consistently meet customer requirements
Reduced operating costs - through continual improvement of processes and resulting operational efficiencies
Improved stakeholder relationships - including staff, customers and suppliers
Legal compliance - by understanding how statutory and regulatory requirements impact on the organization and its your customers
Improved risk management - through greater consistency and traceability of products and services
Proven business credentials - through independent verification against recognized standards
Ability to win more business - particularly where procurement specifications require certification as a condition to supply.
